The following poetical portraiture of the sincere friend,
was wrote by a young gentleman but sixteen years of age.
  Friendship, that source of bliss, was first design'd
  To help, to mend, and humanize the mind;
  To let mankind foretaste in part the love,
  The joy, the pleasure, that they taste above.

  There too they'll join the happy choir, and sing
  Alternate praises to th' almighty King;
  There hand in hand they'll tread the heav'nly road,
  And join in anthems to salute their God;
